Power Corp”s Patriachy loses a Member

As noted in the accompanying article, Jacqueline Desmarais had passed away at age 89. Wife of family patriarch Paul Desmarais, it is fitting they celebrate the philanthropic achievements in her life given the auspicious accumulation of wealth. What else should a billionaire do with their disposable income or free time. Why celebrate when its the least one should expect from a sentient member of humanity. This family has been accused of thwarting the Iraq Oil for Food program and having close ties to political leaders of Canada. Furthermore, French president Nicolas Sarkozy sought sanctuary with the Desmarais family prior to his Paris home being raided for corruption. Canadian’s and humanity in general should set their expectations higher than to prostrate at the wealth’s feet for using our taxed based income for philanthropy.

More to come on this subject.
